On the other side of the glass, do you see lots of baggage. Heart and soul, packed for its life long journey. A mission to find enough confidence, that will never again be taken… for granted. On the other side of the glass, do you ponder a list of past mistakes, or see a list of lessons learned, what not to do? On the other side of the glass, do you see a reflection of someone struggling to stand, or someone on their knees searching, for the courage to rise up every day, from the ashes? On the other side of the glass, do you see someone in pieces over shattered dreams, or someone trying their best to collect themselves, use broken pieces to rebuild their hopes? Just know, on the other side of every perception, a reflective glass. Reflecting the things, we all try so desperately to conceal, with a little blush, and the make-up. The pretty words used, to tell our tale. The real you, textured glass. Reflective interpretations, veneered glass. Transparent facades, not meant to mask the heart, but reveal its humanity!
Mirror, mirror; through the glassed lens, show me one heart that doesn’t have their baggage, one soul that hasn’t made its own list of mistakes? How about someone, that hasn’t struggled knowing their worth, or at some point felt a bit broken? Every mirror’s reflection, perfect as it may seem today, could become sudden brokenness. A mirror reflects you, what’s allowed to be seen. Glass reveals what’s a fragile situation, a heart handled with care, not easily broken. Casting stones, will break glass, easily replaced. But, the heart worn on the sleeve, when impaled by reckless acts, leaves visible scars. Glasses expose, what a mirror can’t hide, brokenness the heart reveals!
