A Love Story; Amazing Day!

Woke up, took a breath, “Next to you.” Watched as love slept, looking like an angel. My heart, trying not to awaken its beauty. My soul, kissed it ever so gently, but, beautifully love smiled at me. Whoa, the kiss upon my lips, love’s forever kiss upon my soul. Rolled out of bed, bowed my head; prayed to be enlightened. Brushed my teeth, dressed my hope, checked my faith; whatever the day holds. Heart and soul, humming in tune; love’s anthem. Breakfast was wonderful, love’s kiss made it even sweeter; the sugar within my sweet… tie. My heart was focused, but my gaze still dazed, of love’s a-maze. Processed out the door, deviated a bit from the usual. Stopped to get gas, and like always, the clerk uttered the usual; any car wash, lottery ticket. Car was clean, and though I don’t play the lottery, wife likes to play sometimes. Bought a scratcher, we won seven million. The lottery office near, so without fear, I went there first. A few minutes down the road, a house was on fire, with a lady screaming; save my baby. No hesitation, ran in and rescued the baby, gently placed the baby in the mother’s arms. With tears, loving was the embrace, with hugs and kisses; what a sight to behold!

Processed to the office, but a cat was stuck in a tree, so I rescued it. Picked up the winnings, but realized it was more than we would ever need. So, use half to help eradicate world hunger, which makes every breath stronger. Donated some to various charities, giving hearts better clarity. Gave some, to help discover a cure for cancer, deep down, every soul’s a graceful dancer. The rest, enough to pay off some bills, and live a moderate lifestyle, what more does anyone truly need? The news heard about it, wanted to interview my heart. But instead, quoted them this, “Life’s greatest treasure, not what gives awe and wonder, but what love makes the heart ponder.” They were befuddled, the clarity of my words not muddled. When I got back home, kissed my wife, told her about my Amazing Day. And how, the best moment was when, I WOKE UP, NEXT TO YOU!!

*** Even though, parts of this story, likened to fiction. Truth is, before leaving in the morning, what precedes is actual. And, who’s to say, an adventure doesn’t await? The question is, what would your story be? As for me, and my heart, reality would be this. If I had millions of dollars, it would definitely be used, for life’s meaningful purposes. My love’s claim, will never be about fame, but what a heart and soul proclaims, its breadth ascending love’s angelic plane. A heart consumed with amassing, not living life’s substance, a soul missing its true destiny. The best part of my day, simply this, my heart awakening to love’s kiss, and returning home, greeted by love’s embrace! ***

  1. The heart is one of my favorite topics to ponder on, because my heart scares me. I’ve realized there’s a part of us no one knows but God and only when we go through certain situations we see what we are capable of. Checking my heart is a constant refrain.
I love how you have weaved this story. How does our day begin and end?

I’m still waiting on that winning lottery 😅.

      1. That’s a beautiful one.

This season is a struggle between love – the heart, God, acceptance.. I think I should let that love dare… thankyou and blessings to you too.

  2. Every moment is an adventure but it’s hard to see when deep in the middle of a trial one cannot fix. Our adventures are narrowed down to doctor visits, hospital stays, procedures to give some health back or find the cause of a new health issue. Our days growing our children are over, over overseas ministry is over, our stateside travel is over, pretty much. Finding ourselves stuck at being retired is a new adventure for sure. But yesterday God gave me one. A lady I have been working with who suffered a breakup from a relationship 10 years old. She is in her 50’s and to her all hope is gone with the leaving of the man. The only place I have been gently and sometimes boldly turning her to is what God says about Himself. She has been a believer since early teens but has not grown in her understanding of who God is. She feels she can only turn to her own mind and feelings for help. Several months as gone past since her and i have been meeting. When she came in yesterday, she was all smiles, no tears, no trembling and had a notebook in her hand. What an adventure is was to listen to how God taught her how much He loved her and any past sins are forgiven. She had been looking to herself and this man to forgive her but human words cannot always fix things. For two hours she shared with me that only could be a God story of the freedom and victory she is walking in. I did not have to even go outside my house in northern Mn where the weather is about 12 below. Adventure came to me. I was smiling all day from it. Love is the greatest adventure there is. When it is real, from a pure heart peace flows. Your writing is great and I love that its all about love. Thanks.
