My Love’s Muse: Deeply Rooted Poet-Tree

My love is a tree, its essence that of a divine seed. At the root of its conception, a representation of love’s enlightened perception, growth being the sublime bloom of its existence. The deeply rooted depth of my innermost, my heart tethered to the true nature of love’s fertile soil. My love is a tree, the heartfelt pinnacle of its stature, the deep tentacles of its foundation. My love is a tree, of a heart planted to profoundly flourish, shaking loose every lifeless limb that won’t bear a fruitful soul. My love is a sappy tree, my heart dripping the poetic dew of love’s beautiful reign. Even when the skies are gray, my heart won’t sway. My love is a tree, my soul of lushly drenched poet-tree.

  1. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding fruit (Jer 17:8)

  2. Your poem made me think of the many ways the Lord used a tree in his word. Our first test of obedience involved a tree. The last mention of trees is in Revelation where they line the waters and bear fruit all the time.

  3. My sweet Dad used to tell me as a little girl that “only GOD can make a tree.” You so captured that here. I have never looked at trees the same way since. Here in the desert we have Acacia trees and they are so pretty in the spring. Of course I love every palm tree I ever see too!
